The Team
Espen Michael Wielunski
Espen was born on July 22, 1988, in Baerum, Norway.Unlike other children his age, he had already lived in three continents by the time he was 3 years old, due to his father’s work. Espen started riding when he was 10. What started off as a hobby, soon turned into a passion and ultimately his career. In 2002, when he was 13, Espen won the Israeli showjumping championship and was selected in the national team to represent Israel in international competitions for young riders. When he was only fourteen and a half, Espen left his family and moved to Germany at the advice of his trainer. For the next nine years, he worked at a number of breeding, trading and private stables throughout the country where he gained invaluable experience and knowledge. During that time, he also completed his 3 year-trainer/horseman apprenticeship (Bereiter). In 2011, he moved to Switzerland to work and train primarily with private stable owners, and in 2015, the Netherlands. Espen moved to Norway in 2019 where he lives and operates his business from.
Despite his relatively young age, Espen has over the years, successfully qualified 30 horses for the German Championships for Young Horses (Bundeschampionate) in Warendorf and World Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken, Belgium. Other successes included CSI competitions in Wiener Neustadt (Austria), Neundorf (Switzerland), Magna Racino (Austria), Fontainebleau (France) and Global Champions Tour, Laussane (Switzerland).
