EMW Sport Horses was established in 2017, by international show jumping rider Espen Michael Wielunski to meet the ever growing demand by equestrian enthusiasts world wide for top quality show jumping horses, of all levels. Espen has spent the last 18 years developing his skills as a rider and trainer. His ability to identify talented horses is well known.Espen’s philosophy is unique but demanding. It’s a combination of good technique, proper training, effective management and plenty of patience. Only that way can you minimize the risk and optimize success
Espen was born on July 22, 1988, in Baerum, Norway.
Unlike other children his age, he had already lived in three continents by the time he was 3 years old, due to his father’s work. Espen started riding when he was 10. What started off as a hobby, soon turned into a passion and ultimately his career. In 2002, when he was 13, Espen won the Israeli showjumping championship and was selected in the national team to represent Israel in international competitions for young riders. When he was only fourteen and a half, Espen left his family and moved to Germany at the advice of his trainer. For the next nine years, he worked at a number of breeding, trading and private stables throughout the country where he gained invaluable experience and knowledge. During that time he also completed his 3 year-trainer/horseman apprenticeship (Bereiter). In 2011, he moved to Switzerland to work and train primarily with private stable owners, and in 2015, Espen made the move to Holland where he lives and operates his business from.
